Appleton is known as Kardashian’s go-to hairstylist and previously created her platinum blond Marilyn Monroe-inspired look for the 2022 Met Gala, a job that made his name synonymous with high-profile transformations. He has also been described as able to charge up to $200,000 for his services. The new Spears photo does not say whether the style change was tied to a specific appearance or simply a personal reset, but it does mark a conspicuous return to the spotlight on her own terms.
