attorney secured a $300,000 wrongful death settlement for the family of a juvenile killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria, Arizona. The case ended with financial compensation for the family after a crash that left one young passenger dead and four others critically injured.

Patil said the case involved “the loss of a young life and a family forever changed by tragedy.” He also said that while no result can undo what happened, the settlement provided accountability and support during a difficult time. The claim was handled by Phillips Law Group, which represented the family throughout the wrongful death case.

The crash involved two vehicles, including a Honda Civic carrying five juveniles. According to authorities, the vehicle with the minors was traveling southbound on Lake Pleasant Parkway when another driver attempted a left turn and caused the collision. One juvenile was ejected from the vehicle, four were taken to the hospital with critical injuries, and one later died from those injuries.

The settlement matters because Arizona wrongful death claims can help families recover compensation tied to medical expenses, funeral costs, lost financial support and emotional harm. Phillips Law Group, based in Phoenix, has handled injury and wrongful death matters across Arizona for more than 30 years and says it has recovered more than $2 billion for clients.

What remains unclear is whether the other driver faced any citation, charge or separate civil claim beyond the settlement. The payment resolves the family’s wrongful death claim, but it does not change the fact that a crash at a Peoria intersection turned one routine turn into a fatal loss for a juvenile passenger and lasting injuries for the others in the car.
