Gable Steveson made his RAF Wrestling debut Saturday night, stepping straight into the main event at RAF 9 against Alexandr Romanov at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
The bout gave RAF 9 its biggest spotlight of the night, with Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist, drawing attention as he continues to move between combat sports stages. He is already scheduled to compete in the UFC against Elisha Ellison at UFC 329 on July 11, a booking that makes his first RAF appearance part of a crowded summer stretch.
That card was built to carry more than one name. Colby Covington and Chris Weidman were set for the co-main event, while Merab Dvalishvili and Frankie Edgar also competed on the lineup. Arman Tsarukyan opened the main card against Mugzy, giving RAF 9 a mix of established veterans and rising interest throughout the night.
What happens next is already fixed on the calendar. Steveson leaves Arlington with one eye still on the UFC date ahead, and the result of his meeting with Romanov now sits alongside the larger question of how far he can push this rapid crossover run before July 11 arrives.
