has conditionally agreed to sell its 84.5% stake in to , in a deal that would hand the gaming publisher a new owner and deliver about £112.4 million in net cash proceeds to TruFin.

The sale drew fresh attention on May 22 after Playstack founder posted on the company’s website that the publisher is entering its next chapter with a new investment partner. Elliott said the move is a change in ownership, not a change in identity, and added that the team, strategy and commitment to publishing premium indie games remain exactly the same. He also thanked TruFin for being an invaluable partner over the past seven years and said it was business as usual for now.

The numbers explain why the deal matters. Playstack generated £55.3 million in gross revenue in 2025, up 24% from a year earlier, and that total accounted for 83.9% of TruFin’s revenue. It is the publisher behind Balatro, Abiotic Factor and The Rise of the Golden Idol, three titles that have helped make Playstack one of TruFin’s most important assets.

TruFin has already recommended that shareholders vote in favour of the sale, and the transaction still needs that approval before it can go ahead. said on May 21 that disposing of Playstack would mark a milestone for TruFin and reflect a disciplined approach to capital allocation and value creation. He also called Integrated Media Company a strong fit for Playstack’s next stage.

That buyer is a vehicle for the assets and private equity firm TPG and already owns , , and other entertainment, football and ecommerce brands. TruFin earlier said 85% of Playstack’s games provide a positive return, a figure that helps explain why the publisher has drawn such interest even as its ownership changes. The remaining questions are straightforward: when shareholders will vote, and how quickly the deal can close if they say yes.
