Tottenham are hopeful of finalising a deal for Andrew Robertson, with the left-back set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer this summer. The club had already tried to sign the 29-year-old in the January transfer window, but he stayed at Anfield then.
The timing matters because Spurs want the move done before Robertson leads Scotland at the World Cup. They are still pushing ahead despite late interest from Juventus, and there is confidence inside the club that a deal can still be completed.
Robertson would arrive after a long and productive spell at Liverpool, where he has remained one of the most reliable figures in their squad. His exit on a free transfer now gives Tottenham a rare chance to add an experienced Premier League left-back without a fee attached.
That pursuit sits alongside their work on other targets, including Marcos Senesi, who has been reviewing multiple offers since the season ended and has drawn interest from teams in LaLiga and Serie A. Senesi is also available on a free transfer after a four-season stay at Bournemouth, where he made 128 appearances, scored six goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.
For Tottenham, the move for Robertson would be one of the cleanest pieces of business of the summer if they can finish it in time. The longer it drags on, the more room there is for rival interest to change the picture, but for now the club remains hopeful of getting it over the line before Scotland's captain heads to the World Cup.
