EA Sports has set a June 4 event to show more of College Football 27, but the release date is still not on the board. That leaves the next entry in the comeback series with a firm date for new details and no firm date for launch.
That is why fans are searching now. College Football 25 arrived on July 19, 2024, and College Football 26 followed on July 10, 2025, with the MVP bundle and Deluxe Edition available three days earlier. Against that pattern, it is reasonable to think College Football 27 could land in early-to-mid July, even though EA Sports has not said so yet.
The June 4 showcase gives the game its next real marker. EA Sports is expected to use it to show more of the title, which followed College Football 25, the highest-grossing sports video game ever, with another strong release last year. But the company has not yet revealed the cover athlete, and it still has not said when the game will be available.
That missing cover name matters because the field looks narrow. Manning would have to be the heavy favorite to become a cover athlete this year, while Moore is already viewed as an early NFL Draft prospect and one of the top five to 10 favorites to win the Heisman. Moore also put up 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on a 72% completion rate last season, then led the Ducks to a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance.
Malachi Toney stands out as the non-quarterback option. In 2025, he led the country with 109 receptions, ranked fifth with 1,211 yards and tied for 12th with 10 touchdowns. The game has never put the same player on the cover in back-to-back years, and Miami just made a run to the national championship, which only sharpens the case around Toney.
For now, the answer to the question fans care about most is simple: June 4 is the next confirmed stop, and everything else is still pending. If EA Sports uses that event to lock in the cover athlete and a release window, the summer launch race for College Football 27 will finally have a shape.
