A woman has been charged after a series of shop thefts in Droitwich, with police saying the case involves offences at two supermarkets between May 20 and May 27.
Faye Jackson, of Mulberry Tree Hill in Droitwich, is accused of eight counts of theft from shop, breaching bail conditions and five counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order. West Mercia Police said the charges relate to seven thefts from Tesco Express in Droitwich and one at Sainsbury’s in Droitwich during that seven-day period.
The 52-year-old was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday 28 May. In a statement, a West Mercia Police spokesperson said she had been charged with multiple shoplifting offences in Droitwich and with breaching the terms of a criminal behaviour order.
The case matters because the allegations go beyond repeated shoplifting. Police say they also involve alleged breaches of bail conditions and a criminal behaviour order, widening the focus from isolated thefts to what authorities describe as repeated offending in the town.
Those charges now move the matter into court, where Jackson’s next appearance at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court is expected to set the direction of the case. For Droitwich, the immediate issue is whether the allegations reflect a contained series of incidents or part of a wider pattern that police have already tried to stop.
