Daniel Ingham, 2026 Isle of Man TT competitor and Senior Manx Grand Prix winner, died after a crash at Doran’s Bend during Wednesday night’s qualifying session. Organisers said the accident happened at the fast left-hander leading into the Glen Helen section.
The death came after a night that had already been interrupted by red flags following a crash involving the Crowe brothers in the sidecar session. Ryan Crowe was treated for arm injuries and Callum Crowe for shoulder injuries, while organisers said both were conscious and talking after the incident.
Ingham was making his TT debut in 2026, but he was not new to the Mountain course. He had first made his debut around the course a decade earlier and returned with a win in the Senior Manx Grand Prix in 2024, a result that marked him as one of the event’s more experienced privateers entering this year’s meeting.
The latest fatality added to a difficult week for the event. On Monday, a serious incident during the opening practice session left eight spectators hurt, and the viewing area where they were injured remained closed. On Tuesday, Maria Costello remained serious but stable after a crash, while Shau Parker continued to receive treatment for chest, leg, arm and facial injuries after a separate accident.
The sidecar class was immediately suspended while organisers reviewed Wednesday’s qualifying crash, underlining how quickly the meeting has shifted from preparation to crisis. Doran’s Bend, one of the faster corners on the 37.73-mile circuit, has now become the centre of the latest inquiry and loss at an event already marked by multiple incidents before racing has properly begun.
