has hinted at a possible fight in Dublin on 1 August, posting a training video from Thailand with the caption: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland.” The timing has immediately fueled talk that the 37-year-old heavyweight could be headed for another bout before a long-anticipated meeting with .

Fury has lost twice in 38 professional bouts, both defeats coming against in 2024. His latest message did not name an opponent, and official confirmation of any Dublin involvement has yet to be announced, but the post was enough to set off fresh speculation around his next move.

The hint lands at a moment when is already staging a fight night in Dublin on 1 August, with Pierce O’Leary and scheduled for a light-welterweight IBO title fight at the 3Arena. That makes Fury’s post more than a stray tease. It suggests he may be eyeing the same card, or at least the same date, as a lead-in to a larger plan.

That larger plan is the meeting with Joshua that has been pushed toward 2026. Eddie Hearn said in April that Joshua had signed to fight Fury, and a fight in August would fit the idea of a warm-up before the two British heavyweights finally meet. Fury returned from a 15-month retirement with a points win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, then called out Joshua while Joshua was ringside, adding fuel to a matchup that has been discussed for years.

Joshua, meanwhile, is set for his own return on 26 July against the unknown Albanian Kristian Prenga. The 37-year-old’s comeback also follows a difficult year away from the spotlight after a car crash in Nigeria in December killed two of his friends. That means the next few weeks now carry weight for both men: Joshua first, then Fury’s next move, and perhaps finally the path toward the fight that has been lingering over the division for so long.
