Nico Collins agrees to Texans restructure as trade calls continue

The move comes as teams around the league have called Houston to check on Collins' availability, but general manager said the Texans are not considering trading the 27-year-old wide receiver. Collins remains the No. 1 target for , and the team is making that clear with its latest financial commitment.

Collins has built his case over the past three seasons. In 2025, he played in 15 regular-season games and caught 71 of 120 targets for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns, his third straight year above 1,000 receiving yards. That production has made him one of Houston's most reliable pieces on offense.

The restructuring also lands in a busy stretch for the Texans. Houston picked up the fifth-year option on Anderson's rookie contract Wednesday, exercised the fifth-year option on Stroud's rookie deal the same day and later agreed Friday to a three-year, $150 million extension with . On draft weekend, the Texans also used picks on at No. 26 overall, McDonald at No. 36, Klein at No. 59 and Bond at No. 204.

The message from Houston is that Collins is part of the plan, not a name to be shopped. With the salary guarantees now in place and trade calls already turned away, the Texans have tied one of their top offensive players more tightly to Stroud and to the next phase of the roster.
