Christos Tzolis has put Manchester United on his list. The Club Brugge winger said he would be open to a move to Old Trafford if the chance came, describing United as a massive club with so much history and saying they could convince him.
The 24-year-old’s remarks land at a moment when United have already secured Champions League qualification and are shaping a summer rebuild. Tzolis said it would have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain or Italy before he would consider leaving Brugge, adding that only PSG is a better option than those clubs.
That is a notable stance from a player who finished the season with 22 goals and 29 assists across all competitions, a return of 51 goal contributions that has lifted his profile well beyond Brugge. He joined the Belgian side in the summer of 2024 from Fortuna Dusseldorf and has also previously had a spell in the Premier League with Norwich City.
For United, the interest is clearer than the shortlist. The club are expected to move for a new left winger once central midfield issues are addressed, with Casemiro due to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of next month. Atalanta midfielder Ederson, Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson have all been linked with summer moves to United as the club looks to strengthen through the middle first.
Tzolis is not on that shortlist, and there is no indication United have made a move for him. But his public openness adds an unexpected layer to a market that already has plenty of moving parts. Crystal Palace were interested in him at the start of the season, though Tzolis said: “The Crystal Palace train has already left the station for me.”
That leaves United with a player who is willing to listen, but only if the destination matches his ambitions. Tzolis has made plain that he is not shopping himself to any club; he is waiting for the right one, and in his view that means a Champions League side with the size and history to make refusal difficult.
