The NBA announced its Kia All-NBA teams on Sunday, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama led the first team as the league turned its attention to Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. The Thunder meet the Spurs at 8 ET on NBC and Peacock.
Gilgeous-Alexander, Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham, Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić made the Kia All-NBA First Team. Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Donovan Mitchell were named to the Second Team, while Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Duren filled out the Third Team.
The timing mattered because the announcement arrived on the same day the postseason spotlight sharpened again on Oklahoma City and San Antonio. It also added another line to a season that has already stacked up awards for Gilgeous-Alexander, who earlier won the Kia MVP award and was also voted the league’s Clutch Player of the Year.
The All-NBA teams are chosen by a media voting panel without regard to position, with players getting five points for a First Team vote, three for a Second Team vote and one for a Third Team vote. That system helped produce a mix of guards, wings and big men across the three teams, with Wembanyama and Holmgren also standing out on the Kia NBA All-Defensive First Team as the two leading vote-getters there.
The result reinforces how broad the league’s elite tier has become, and how quickly the conversation can shift from awards to the next playoff test. For Gilgeous-Alexander, the All-NBA honor was his second individual award this season, a reminder that his résumé keeps growing even as the Thunder chase a deeper run.
