The Hawkstone Farmers Choir won the fifth and final semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent 2026 on tonight, taking the last place in the live final after receiving the most votes from the public. Jake Banfield finished as runner-up, while James Miller came third.
The result settled who won bgt 2026 at the semi-final stage and completed the line-up for next Saturday’s live final on May 30. The night opened with a performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Matilda The Musical, before eight more acts went on to compete for a place in the final.
Celestial also marked the evening with the last golden buzzer of BGT 2026, earning that award from all four judges after an epic drone display. Simon Cowell praised the act, saying it was one of the most beautiful, incredible productions the show had seen for years, and added that he did not think it gets better than that. Another judge, Amanda Holden, said it was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen on the program.
The fifth semi-final mattered because it was the fifth and final semi-final of the 2026 series, leaving no more chances for contestants to reach the live final. Britain’s Got Talent has now produced 18 winners since its first series in 2007, and last year magician Harry Moulding took the title. The winner of this year’s competition will receive £250,000 and the chance to perform in front of the royal family at the Royal Variety Performance.
For the Hawkstone Farmers Choir, the vote closed the night with a clear result and a place in the final. For everyone else, the field is now set, and the only question left is whether the public will make the choir the 19th winner in the show’s history.
