Hollie Doyle is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury at Bath on Friday, ending her planned ride at Salisbury later the same day. The jockey said on Saturday that she would be out of action for a while, and no return date was given.
Doyle was riding Vault Of Heaven for trainer Kevin Frost in a sprint handicap when the mount went badly wrong after two furlongs at Bath. She had been due to ride at Salisbury on Saturday evening, but her mount in the British Stallion Studs EBF Cathedral Stakes on Zoum Zoum went to Daniel Muscutt.
In a message to supporters, Doyle thanked people for their messages and said thoughts were with the horse’s connections. The note confirmed only that she would be sidelined for a while, without saying how serious the injury is or how long recovery may take.
The setback matters because Doyle is one of the busiest and most recognisable riders in the sport, and any absence changes racecards quickly. For now, the only firm detail is that her return is not scheduled, leaving the rest of the week’s rides in motion elsewhere.
