PlayStation has scheduled its annual summer State of Play for June 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine is set to be the only confirmed game in the lineup. The broadcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. PT, 5:00 p.m. ET, and will stream on YouTube and Twitch.
According to a PlayStation Blog post, Marvel’s Wolverine will apparently kick off the showcase. The game is being developed by Insomniac Games, and its appearance gives the event an early anchor ahead of Summer Game Fest, which follows later that week.
For now, Wolverine Marvel is the story because it is the only title PlayStation has publicly locked in. Other games could still surface during the presentation, but none of them have been confirmed. That leaves the spotlight squarely on Marvel’s Wolverine, and on what PlayStation chooses to show first when the stream goes live.
The setup is straightforward: a summer showcase with one named game, a fixed start time, and an audience that will be watching for any clue about what comes next. If PlayStation wanted a clean way to pull attention ahead of Summer Game Fest, it found one.
