Juventus are preparing to step up their efforts to sign Bernardo Silva next summer, with the 31-year-old set to leave Manchester City and Atlético Madrid and Barcelona also in the chase for his signature.
The Italian club are planning a stronger push in the market as the midfielder's exit from City draws closer. The report does not say which club is leading the race, but Juventus want to move decisively as they try to beat Atlético Madrid and Barcelona to a player who remains one of the most experienced names in the round-up.
That pursuit sits alongside a wider set of transfer stories that point to a busy summer. Barcelona sporting director Deco was expected at Saturday's FA Cup Final to watch Chelsea striker Joao Pedro, although Chelsea do not want to sell the 24-year-old Brazil international. Barcelona are also linked with Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, who would be happy to stay where he is if a move to Spain does not happen.
There are other names in motion too. Coventry City are weighing up a deal for Georginio Wijnaldum, whose Al-Ettifaq contract is due to expire in the summer, while Everton are monitoring Burnley's Loum Tchaouna, the 22-year-old France Under-21 international. Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto is wanted by SC Freiburg, and Leeds are open to selling him or letting him go on loan with an obligation to buy.
Juventus also have their own decisions to make at home. Douglas Luiz, who is on loan at Aston Villa, could be given another chance to impress unless the club manage to sell him first. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are interested in Charles De Ketelaere, though only as an alternative if a move for Anthony Gordon falls through.
For Juventus, the Bernardo Silva chase stands out because it is the clearest sign yet that their summer plans are already taking shape before the window opens. If the move gathers pace, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona may have to decide whether they are prepared to stay in the race or look elsewhere.
