says the past few months have brought a different kind of reunion for : one built on healing, not a comeback plan. Speaking on the red carpet Sunday evening at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, Hubbard said he and have been hanging out, laughing, cutting up and goofing around again, and that it “just feels like the old days.”

The country duo behind hits including Cruise, This Is How We Roll, May We All, H.O.L.Y. and Get Your Shine On launched its career with a debut record in 2012, then announced in February 2022 that they were taking a break to pursue solo projects. Florida Georgia Line played its final show as a duo in August 2022, but Hubbard said the split has not ended the bond between the two men who built one of country music’s biggest crossover acts.

“We’ve had a blast. It’s been a really fun season of healing, like you said, and we’ve been hanging out, laughing, cutting up, goofing around, and it just feels like the old days,” Hubbard said. He added, “Yeah, one photo and the world thinks you’re back on tour automatically,” after fans reacted to social media photos shared by him, Kelley and their wives. He also said, “I think for the world to get to experience a little taste of the emotion and the healing that we’ve gotten to feel” would be meaningful.

That does not mean new Florida Georgia Line music is coming soon. Hubbard was direct: “there’s no new FGL music on the way at this time.” He said he is too busy with his solo work at the moment, with his newest song, Land, set to arrive Friday, May 22. He is also looking ahead to dates on ’s fall headlining tour.

Still, Hubbard did not close the door on sharing a stage with Kelley again. He said, “we have been toying around and flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year,” and called the idea of performing together “a lot of fun.” For now, Hubbard said he is leaving Las Vegas and flying to the beach to hang out with Kelley and their wives, a small but notable sign that the relationship behind Florida Georgia Line is back on friendlier ground — even if the music is not.

What happens next is simple: Hubbard's solo schedule moves first, and any Florida Georgia Line reunion, if it happens, will be limited to a handful of shows rather than a full return.
