Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Jarrod Bowen as West Ham brace for the possibility of a relegation-triggered sell-off. If Tottenham take a point from either of their final two games, West Ham will go down, and the club may need to raise more than £100m if the worst comes to pass.
Bowen has been one of West Ham’s brightest performers this season, with 21 goals and assists combined, and his form has again put him on the radar of England’s biggest clubs. Liverpool have long admired him. United are looking at him as an option on the left wing. Chelsea think he could compete on the right and also provide cover for their strikers.
For West Ham, the timing is awkward. The club made a £104.2m loss in the last financial year, so relegation would deepen pressure on the balance sheet and could force sales even though Bowen is tied to the club until 2030. He joined from Hull in January 2020 and has only grown in status since then, scoring the winning goal when West Ham beat Fiorentina in the Conference League final in 2020.
That history matters because Bowen is not viewed as a routine asset. He is described as one of the most loved players in West Ham’s history and is thought to be happy in London, with a contract that gives the club leverage even if interest keeps building. But finances have a way of changing the conversation, and West Ham may soon have to decide whether keeping a fan favourite is more important than stabilising the books.
