appeared to suffer an outage around 10:20 a.m. PT on Tuesday, with users reporting problems across the site and a spike in complaints on . Reports climbed to about 4,000 before ballooning to more than 10,000, while Reddit's official status page said the company was investigating the issue.

The status page later said the issue had been identified and a fix was being implemented. Reddit also said users may encounter errors and general loading issues across feeds, posts and search, and that recently uploaded images and videos may not appear as expected.

The reports were not limited to one corner of the platform. Reddit's status page showed degraded performance across the desktop website, mobile app and mobile website, while comments on Downdetector seemed to indicate the outage was mostly affecting Old Reddit. Some users also said images were slow to load on new Reddit.

That mix of complaints matters because it points to a problem affecting several layers of the service at once rather than a single broken page. When both the official status page and user reports line up on feed, post, search and media-loading issues, the interruption reaches deep into how people use Reddit, not just whether the homepage opens.

The unresolved question is how quickly the fix restores full service across all versions of the platform, especially for users still seeing loading problems or missing images. For now, Reddit says the issue has been identified, but the outage has already left Old Reddit users and newer app and web users dealing with the same basic problem: the site was not behaving normally when they tried to use it.
