The move follows a broader run of higher prices across Sony’s gaming lineup. The company raised PS5 console prices in March, saying then that it was dealing with continued pressures in the global economic landscape. Earlier this month, Sony also said it had not yet decided when to launch the or what that console would cost.

The latest increase lands as game makers continue to pass along higher costs, especially for hardware, and it puts fresh pressure on players who rely on subscription services to keep access to Sony’s online features and monthly game library. For new buyers in the affected regions, the message is simple: the price is going up before they even sign up.
