Gemini Intelligence is moving onto Android phones this summer, with the first wave set for select Samsung and Google devices as the company pushes deeper into automation, browsing help and form filling. The rollout will begin on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones before expanding to more Android hardware later this year.
The system is built to do more than answer questions. It can book rides, shop, summarize web pages in Chrome and even fill out complex forms. A long press on the power button over a grocery list can trigger Gemini to build a shopping cart for delivery, while a photo of a travel brochure can prompt the assistant to find a tour like it on Expedia for a group of six.
Google has spent months fine-tuning the multi-step automation on the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10, a sign that the launch is being shaped as much by hardware as by software. The company says Gemini Intelligence will pair premium hardware with new software tools, and that users will be able to watch progress live through notifications as the assistant works in the background.
That matters because Android is being recast as more than an operating system. The new features are being introduced in waves, not all at once, and the company says the wider plan is to bring Gemini Intelligence to watches, cars, glasses and laptops later this year. It also says the system is designed to keep users in control and keep their data private, even as it takes on more of the work.
The tension is in that balance. Gemini can act only on a user's command and stops when the task is complete, but the pitch still depends on people trusting it to handle increasingly personal chores, from finding a class syllabus in Gmail to turning spoken thoughts into polished messages through the Rambler feature. The rollout now starts with the newest phones, but the real test will come when that same promise reaches the broader Android world later this year.
