finished first in the ’s Matchday Fan Experience and Engagement Survey after scoring 80.8, returning to the top of the table after placing second in each of the previous two campaigns. More than 1,100 Brentford supporters were among nearly 32,000 match-going fans whose responses shaped this season’s results.

The club’s best showing came across the board. Brentford ranked inside the top six in every measurement feeding into the overall score, while 96 per cent of supporters said they felt positive about the atmosphere at the Gtech Community Stadium and 95 per cent said the club provides an inclusive experience for all supporters.

That combination of numbers matters because the survey is built around what fans actually experience on matchday, from the turnstiles to the final whistle. Brentford’s result comes after two straight seasons of finishing second in the same assessment, and this year’s return to first place points to steady gains rather than a one-off bounce.

The club also did well on practical details that supporters notice immediately. Fans rated Brentford strongly for its family-friendly environment and for how it deals with negative behaviour in the stands, with incidents remaining below the league average. The club introduced in-stadium wi-fi and held tasting events at the Gtech for supporters to try new food and drink options during the season.

Those changes show up in the rankings. Brentford finished third in the league for wi-fi connectivity and second for the quality and range of food and drink, while the club was top for the attitude and performance of staff overall, including those working in the ticket office. Digital ticketing was also introduced during the season, adding another layer to the matchday experience.

Supporters also gave Brentford a strong vote of confidence off the pitch. Ninety-eight per cent said they feel the club is well run, and the club placed first for openness and transparency of communications. That combination helps explain why Brentford was able to pull clear in a survey that looks beyond results on the field.

Brentford’s said returning to the top of the table was a testament to the hard work across the club, including matchday staff, as well as the support of fans and the atmosphere they create at the Gtech. The message from the numbers is just as clear: Brentford did not win on one category alone, but by delivering a broadly consistent experience that supporters could feel across the ground.

The survey measured matchday fan experience and engagement across the Premier League, with supporters asked about atmosphere, inclusivity, family-friendliness, staff, food and drink, wi-fi and communication. Brentford’s rise back to first suggests that, for now, it has turned those moving parts into one of the league’s most complete matchday operations.
