is back in Cardiff this weekend, bringing 12,000-pound machines, monster trucks and family entertainment to Principality Stadium on Saturday, May 16. Drivers will take on Racing, Skills and Freestyle competitions as the Welsh capital prepares for a day that will also bring traffic disruption around the city centre.

Some roads in Cardiff will be closed from 11am until 7.30pm on Saturday, with Castle Street and Cowbridge Road West among the affected routes. Duke Street and Kingsway will remain open. The timing matters because the event is drawing thousands to the stadium on the same day, and road access will shape how fans move into and out of the area.

The Cardiff event also marks the UK debut of Sparkle Smash, a unicorn-inspired truck that joins the line-up of massive stunts and family entertainment. Monster Jam is built around crowd spectacle, but the practical rules are strict: there is a no re-entry policy, large bags are not permitted, and small bags and handbags are only allowed if they are no larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm.

The setup leaves little room for last-minute surprises. Anyone heading to Principality Stadium on Saturday will need to plan ahead, get through security once and stay inside for the duration. For Cardiff, the return of monster trucks is not just another event on the calendar; it is a full-day test of logistics as much as a show of noise and speed.
