NORFOLK, Va. — opened fight week in his hometown Wednesday night the same way he wants to close it: in front of the people who know him best. Davis, and took part in a workout at Norfolk Boxing Academy as they began the run-up to Saturday’s card at Scope.

Keyshawn Davis, 14-0 with 10 knockouts, headlines the show against in a bout that brings back a familiar name. Davis beat Albright by majority decision in October 2023, but the result was later changed to a no-contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana. Now the rematch comes with a title of its own, a second chance in the same arena where the first fight was wiped from the record.

For Davis, the setting matters as much as the matchup. He said he likes training in front of children and being an inspiration to them, and he spoke about enjoying the chance to come back to his community, shake hands and talk with people in his hometown. The brothers have made Norfolk part of their identity, and this week is built around that return.

“It’s everything to us, just to train together, to fight together,” Davis said. “We’re DB3, we’re the Davis brothers, so it’s only right for us to just keep coming back to Norfolk every time we get a chance.”

The night’s other Davis family fights carry their own stakes. Kelvin Davis, 15-1 with eight knockouts, meets in a 10-round welterweight bout. Kelvin lost to Albright last June at Scope for the first professional defeat of his career, a setback he says the family has used as fuel. He said the last outing did not go their way and that Saturday should show a more mature, improved DB3.

“Last time didn’t go our way all the way across the board,” Kelvin Davis said. “It was like the devil was beating us down last time but now we’re showing we’re back and we’re better. We’re more mature and we’re ready to go, so Saturday night you’re going to see a whole improved DB3 as a whole.”

Kelvin said he has a short memory and is focused on getting back into the win column on May 16. Keon Davis, 4-0 with three knockouts, takes on Edwine Humaine Jr. in the welterweight division after winning twice at Scope and chasing a third victory there. He said he does not have an advantage on paper, but believes every part of his skill set is better than Humaine’s.

The family’s day is not done before the ring walk. The final press conference was scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Waterside Marriott, the last formal stop before Saturday’s fights put the brothers back in front of a Norfolk crowd that has followed them from the start.

For Keyshawn Davis, the main event is about more than clearing up the record against Albright. He said he believes he will stop him this time and that this will be the fourth straight opponent he has stopped who had never been stopped before. In Norfolk, on a card built around family, the pressure and the familiarity arrive together.
