Isaiah Hill committed to Purdue on Friday, giving the Boilermakers a 7-foot center from Pike High School and one of the highest-rated recruits in program history. Hill, a five-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, chose Purdue over Indiana, Notre Dame, Louisville and Kentucky.
The decision gives Purdue the No. 13 overall player and No. 2 center in the 2027 class, with a.9941 evaluation that makes him the highest-rated recruit the Boilermakers have landed since rankings began. Caleb Swanigan, who committed in 2015, had a.9910 rating, which Hill now tops. Purdue offered Hill a scholarship in August 2024 and stayed in front throughout a recruitment that centered on his size, production and growth.

Pike’s season ended with a 57-54 overtime loss to Mount Vernon in the Class 4A Regional, but Hill’s rim protection and rebounding stood out enough to keep him on the radar of major programs all year.
Purdue’s pitch has become familiar to seven-foot recruits. Under Matt Painter and assistant coach Brandon Brantley, the Boilermakers have continued to develop post players at an extremely high level, and that reputation has turned the program into an intriguing destination for nearly every 7-footer in the country.
