Niall Horan has broken his silence on Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz’s upcoming wedding, and he says he will not be there. Speaking during a recent appearance on the New Zealand radio show The Edge NZ, the former One Direction singer became the first member of the group to publicly address the wedding plans.
Horan said he had “a couple of weddings” coming up of his own and told listeners, “We all love a wedding. A couple of mates of mine are getting married, so that’s gonna be very fun.” When co-hosts Ollie Miles and Lucy Maynard pushed him on whether the dates involved a “particular month” and “old people you used to work with,” he laughed and clarified, “Oh, right, no, no, no. I get it now. No, just mates of mine.” He then made his position plain: “I am not going, if that’s what you’re asking.”
The comments land a month after it was revealed that Styles, 32, is engaged to Kravitz, 37, after less than a year of dating. The pair had already sparked engagement rumors back in December, and Kravitz was first spotted wearing a massive diamond ring on her left ring finger in mid-April. The engagement has not been officially confirmed in a statement, but Horan’s remarks are the clearest public acknowledgment yet from Styles’ old bandmate.
That matters because Horan is not just any bystander. As the first One Direction member to address the upcoming nuptials, he has effectively confirmed what the rumor cycle has been building toward for months, even if he stopped short of discussing the couple directly. His answer also showed the easy, slightly evasive tone celebrities often use when a personal milestone turns into public property.
Horan also had to field a different wedding question in another recent interview, when he was asked whether he had received an invite to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. On the day he spoke in New Zealand, though, the answer that cut through was simpler: he is not attending Styles and Kravitz’s ceremony, and he does not seem troubled by that at all. He called himself “a busy man,” and for now, that is the end of his part in the story.
