The Indianapolis Colts are open to trading Jonathan Taylor, and the talks are not theoretical anymore. Multiple teams have reached out, and discussions about the Pro Bowler are active and ongoing as the Nov. 10 deadline approaches.
That is why the search for Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors Colts is moving now. Taylor, 27, has been one of the league's most productive backs this season with 587 rushing yards and a league-leading eight touchdowns, yet his future is suddenly back in doubt after he said he was proud to be with the Colts even as he acknowledged a trade could happen.
Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter identified the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks as clubs that have shown some level of interest. For Indianapolis, the appeal of moving Taylor would be clear: he is under contract through 2028 after signing a two-year, $44 million extension in August, and a deal would change a large piece of the roster and its salary structure at the same time.
The Colts would still prefer Taylor to be part of their rebuild, but their actions point in another direction. They are 2-5, they fired general manager Chris Ballard after a loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans in Week 6, and this week they shipped Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks and DeForest Buckner to the 49ers. Earlier reports said ownership did not want to move Taylor; now the club is open to it, which is a sharper signal than any public statement.
Any trade would also force a cold calculation. Taylor already has 9,832 total yards and 84 touchdowns in seven years, and his contract makes him the third-highest-paid running back at $22 million per year. If the Colts decide that deadline sellers matter more than keeping a star in place, the next question is not whether there is interest. It is whether Indianapolis closes a deal before Nov. 10, or lets one of its best players stay put while the market keeps calling.
