Fábio Carvalho will miss Brentford's Premier League meeting with Nottingham Forest and is not expected back until after the November international break, leaving Brentford without one of their attacking options on Saturday afternoon. Keith Andrews said Carvalho picked up a knock about 10 days to two weeks ago.

That update matters because Brentford host Nottingham Forest at Gtech Community Stadium at 3pm kick-off GMT, and the club enter the match with no fresh injury problems beyond Carvalho. Rico Henry is also out until after the international break, but Andrews said everyone else came through the Sunderland game on Wednesday night fine, with a couple of players appearing for the first time in a while.

Brentford have lost just once in the league all season, and that defeat came at home to Liverpool a fortnight ago. They now face a Nottingham Forest side sitting in the relegation zone, even as Andrews warned that their table position does not match their performances. He said Forest have played very well in games and have players who can hurt you if given the opportunity.

Andrews added that this will be the toughest game Brentford have faced in the last seven to eight days, which is a reminder that the gap between league position and actual threat can be thin. For Brentford, the immediate question is how they cope without Carvalho and Henry in a match that could test both their depth and their recent run of form.
