Cedric Coward, Jaylen Wells and Isaiah Stewart will hand out 750 tickets to the opening night game against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the FedExForum grand Lobby, giving fans a shot at seats before Wednesday night's tipoff. The tickets will be distributed in pairs, so the giveaway can reach up to 375 adults if every pair is claimed.
The tickets are being offered first-come, first-serve and are limited to two tickets per adult, a setup that should move quickly once the players start giving them out. Fans who miss out still have a chance to buy tickets, so the giveaway is only one part of the push to fill FedExForum for opening night.
That push matters because the Memphis Grizzlies are aiming for a packed house when the season opens Wednesday at 7 p.m. Coward, Wells and Stewart are the face of that effort on Tuesday, but the lineup at the grand Lobby will likely decide how many fans walk away with seats and how many leave empty-handed.
