The Local Football Commission has called for calm and strict compliance with security measures ahead of the Cúcuta Atlético Nacional match this Tuesday at the General Santander stadium. The warning comes as a significant number of Atlético Nacional supporters are already in Cúcuta, a development that has raised concern among local authorities.

Luis Fernando Fuentes Tuta said the commission held a meeting last Thursday to coordinate the operational and logistical aspects of the sporting commitment. He added that the provisions adopted by the body are backed by Decreto 0377, signed by the acting mayor of the city, and said the goal is to keep the encounter under control.

The match between Cúcuta Deportivo and Atlético Nacional is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the General Santander stadium. That timing is what makes the warning immediate: the crowd is already moving, and the city must manage the arrival before the first whistle.

Fuentes Tuta said there is already a significant number of visiting fans in the capital of Norte de Santander and urged them to respect the rules set by the authorities. He said: “Let us live football in peace, let us have a lot of prevention, let us comply with the commission’s provisions, let us keep calm,” and also called for “a beautiful spectacle” that can be enjoyed peacefully and with respect.

The friction is plain. The commission wants to recover the family atmosphere that for years defined matches at the stadium, yet the presence of so many visiting supporters before the game has sharpened concerns about safety and coexistence. Local authorities are now relying on the measures already adopted to keep that balance from slipping before Tuesday evening.

What happens next is straightforward: Cúcuta Deportivo and Atlético Nacional will play at General Santander this Tuesday, and the real test will be whether the city can hold the line on the rules while allowing the match to go ahead in peace.
