Eric Murray was back on the active list Sunday, and the Jacksonville Jaguars still cut their available group to seven inactives for Texans Vs Jaguars 2026 at Wembley Stadium. The safety had missed the previous game with a concussion, but he was cleared on Friday and available against the Houston Texans.
The Jaguars announced the inactives 90 minutes before kickoff in Week 6, with Montaric Brown and Ross Matiscik among the seven players sitting out. Brown and Matiscik had already been ruled out in Friday's third and final injury report, and Jacksonville also listed C.J. Williams, Albert Regis, Wesley Williams, Jaylon Jones and Jalen Huskey as inactive for the international game in London.
That left Murray as one of the main personnel changes on a day when the Jaguars needed all the depth they could get. He had missed a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last week after sustaining the concussion against the Cincinnati Bengals the week before, while Brown had started against the Eagles after missing the Bengals game with a hamstring injury. Brown then missed practice all three days this week, which made his absence for Sunday less of a surprise than Murray's return was a relief.
Matiscik's absence carried its own impact. He went down with a shoulder injury against the Eagles, and DaVon Hamilton handled the long snapping for the last three-plus quarters after that. The Jaguars signed Jacob Bobenmoyer on Tuesday and elevated him from the practice squad on Saturday, a sign they were preparing for the possibility that the specialist spot would need help again.
There was little drama around the Jaguars' inactives Sunday, but the list still showed how tight the margin is for an AFC South-leading team playing overseas. Murray's return gave Jacksonville one healthy piece back on defense, while the absences of Brown and Matiscik forced the club to lean on cover and snap depth in a game that arrived with the lineup already narrowed before kickoff.
