's College GameDay is heading to Tuscaloosa for Saturday's Alabama-Georgia game, setting up its show at Denny Chimes on the University of Alabama campus for one of the biggest matchups of the season so far.

The crew of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban will be there as sixth-ranked Alabama hosts second-ranked Georgia, with both teams entering at 5-0. That alone makes the broadcast a major draw, but the game also carries College Football Playoff implications and brings two offenses playing at a blistering pace.

Georgia leads the nation in scoring at 51.4 points per game and has allowed just 13.4 points this season. Alabama is not far behind on offense at 49.6 points per game, though it has given up 20.8 points a contest. Georgia also won the last meeting 28-7 in last year's SEC Championship Game, while Alabama has won both regular-season meetings since Kalen DeBoer took over in 2024.

The backdrop is not entirely clean. There is concern that adverse weather tied to Hurricane Isaias could affect the game, even as both sides prepare normally. Kirby Smart said the uncertainty is beyond his control, adding that coaches plan for weather situations when they are there, that Georgia had the same kind of preparation last week with a threat like this, and that it does not change much about practice. That leaves the simplest answer and the hardest one at the same time: College GameDay is locked into Tuscaloosa, but the Saturday kick itself still has weather hanging over it.

Last week, College GameDay was on Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Iowa Hawkeyes after making a stop in Mississippi for Lane Kiffin and LSU in Week 3. This week belongs to Alabama and Georgia, and if the forecast holds, the only thing that changes is how much attention follows the game once the crowd leaves Denny Chimes.
