Jeff Cobb is now the third man for the Knockout Brothers, with Yuto Ice and OSKAR revealing him as their partner for a challenge to United Empire’s NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships at NJPW Road to King of Pro-Wrestling.

The timing matters because the match is now set for NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling on October 12, giving the title picture a clear shape after the announcement landed on the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling card. The championships they are chasing are six-man titles, so the challenge is built on three-man teamwork and on whether Cobb can fit cleanly beside Yuto Ice and OSKAR when the bell rings.

That reveal came after the Knockout Brothers had just defeated HENERA and Great-O-Khan to regain the IWGP Tag Team Titles, which turned the night into more than a simple victory lap. Cobb also had already done work earlier in the same show, teaming with Daiki Nagai to beat Callum Newman and Zane Jay, so his arrival in the challenge was not a cold insertion but a shift that followed him through the card.

The alignment carries extra weight because Cobb was once part of United Empire and now identifies with Unbound Co. He also won the IWGP Tag Team Titles with Great-O-Khan on two separate occasions, which puts him on both sides of this matchup’s history and gives the challenge a sharper edge than a routine title shot would have. That is the friction here: a former member has been dropped into a title chase against the group he once stood beside.

For United Empire, the defense will come from Will Ospreay, HENERA and Great-O-Khan, while the Knockout Brothers enter with Cobb as the third piece and a fresh title win still behind them. The line is now drawn, and the only question left is whether Cobb’s new alignment holds long enough for the challenge, or whether October 12 becomes the night that old ties meet new loyalty head-on.
