Leon enters the next chapter of Leon - Juarez with the clearer league edge: nine wins, three draws and two losses against the Bravos. That record gives La Fiera the stronger hand in a matchup that has already produced a penalty shootout, a 3-1 league result and a long list of shared names.
That is why the search for Leon - Juarez is back now. The rivalry is still young in direct meetings, but it carries older baggage from Ciudad Juárez, where earlier clubs once stood in Leon’s way. FC Juárez is the third team from that city to reach the top flight, following Cobras and Indios, and it is the only one of the three to arrive in Primera División without sporting promotion.

Juan Carlos “Romita” Rojas, Nelson Maz, Wanderley de Jesús, Cirilo Saucedo, Edy Brambila, Felipe Rodríguez and Santiago Ormeño have all played for both clubs. Sergio Orduña is the only coach to have managed both, taking charge of Leon in 2010 and the Bravos from 2015 to 2016. There is also an older Ciudad Juárez line that still shapes how this matchup is read. Cobras beat Leon 1-0 in the 1987-88 Segunda División final, and Indios later knocked Leon out in the 2008 Ascenso final by a 5-4 aggregate score.
