The Raiders were rebuilding, yet Houston made the session look almost effortless, as if the defense had already solved the problems the other side was still trying to create.
The contrast matters because it tells you something about where Houston sits now. A contender does not have to win every practice rep to be noticed, but it does have to make a live setting look orderly under pressure. If the Texans keep that level of precision once the games count, the rest of the league will be chasing more than talent.
