Curaçao’s path was built on Jaymiëll Martina, who struck out 12 batters in 5.2 innings and helped set the tone with a three-run third before adding an RBI double in the fourth. Nevada answered with force of its own, scoring five runs in the second inning, then six in the fourth and five more in the fifth against Ohio. That kind of margin matters in a tournament where one big inning can end a week’s work in a hurry.
The matchup also gives Nevada a chance to settle into the final again. Paseo Verde Little League from Henderson represents the Mountain Region and the United States, which is why the team reaches the LLWS through the bracket path rather than as a state champion alone. During the win over Ohio, she became the sixth girl in LLWS history to record multiple hits in the tournament, a line that sounds small until it is measured against the short list of girls who have done it before.
