Atlético opened ticket sales and resales for Cruzeiro vs Atlético-MG in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals on Tuesday at 10h, setting the clock for a derby that will be played at 21h on September 1 at Arena MRV. The first move is not the match itself. It is the race to secure a seat before one of the biggest nights of the campaign.
That matters because the pricing and access rules are already in place. Tickets start at R$ 29,90 in Inter Norte for GNV members and at R$ 49,00 in Inter Sul for the Forte and Vingador and Internacional plans, while each GNV member except GNV Instituto Galo and GNV da Massa may buy up to four additional tickets with a 50% discount. Sales for Forte and Vingador, GNV Arena and GNV Premium also began at 10h on August 25, and GNV Instituto sales opened then too, ending at 9h on August 26.
The rules tighten quickly after that. Cessionários of cadeiras cativas, camarotes, GNV Black and GNV Premium could resell or redeem from the same opening time, but cancellation was available only until 21h on Monday, August 31. GNV Black is the sharpest edge in the system: those tickets are guaranteed until that deadline, and after 21h on August 31 any redemption depends on what is still available in the sector.
There is a broader control plan behind the sale. Access to Arena MRV for people over 12 years old will be exclusively by facial recognition, and creating a GaloID account is mandatory for stadium access, including for children. For those under 12, facial biometrics are optional, but GaloID remains required, with entry allowed by E-ticket or BarCode. Atlético wants the Massa behind it as it tries to turn Arena MRV into a caldeirão and chase a place in the semifinal, which makes the timing of this sale as important as the match itself.
What comes next is simple and immediate: the derby at 21h on September 1. By then, the real question will not be when sales started. It will be which supporters managed to get through the first window before the available seats in each sector began to disappear.
