Stephanie Vaquer came back to WWE Raw on August 24 and left with a win. After a stretch away from the ring since WrestleMania, Vaquer beat Roxanne Perez on the Ottawa show and did it with her finisher after the match was thrown off by ringside interference.
That mattered because Raw aired early in Canada because of a double taping alongside SmackDown, turning the episode into a packed live window with several moving parts. The return of Vaquer was the cleanest in-ring headline, and it came on a night when viewers were already watching for what the show would do with its other top angles.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were both at ringside during the match, and the distraction they created changed the rhythm before Becky Lynch came out after the interference. Perez had enough openings to stay in the fight, but Vaquer still closed it out with the finisher that ended the match. The finish gave Vaquer a decisive return and reminded anyone watching that her first match since WrestleMania did not come with a slow build.
Earlier in the night, LA Knight opened Raw with a promo about Roman Reigns and called him a coward, saying Reigns had refused to defend the belt against him. Solo Sikoa then showed up in the crowd, and The Usos started making their way to the ring. From there, Knight and Sikoa agreed to a tag match involving four wrestlers later in the show, which kept the focus moving even as the night shifted from one dispute to the next.
The unfinished business is simple enough. Vaquer has already answered the first question with a win over Perez, but Raw still has to pay off the tag match that grew out of the Knight-Sikoa confrontation, and the No. 1 Contender's tournament semifinal between Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee is still part of the same show. On a night packed into an early start, the returns and the rivalries both still had room to move.
