The Browns got a live test on Thursday at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus, and KC Concepcion was one of the players who made it count. In a Browns Game-style joint practice against the Bills, Concepcion and T Spencer Fano stood out while the offense and defense traded reps in a sharper setting than an ordinary camp workout.

That mattered because it came on Day 18 of 2026 Browns Training Camp, when every snap carried extra weight and the Browns were facing another NFL team instead of their own sideline. Todd Monken said it was “fun to compete against someone else,” adding that he had “a lot of respect for the (Buffalo) Bills” and that the work let him see more than one version of his offense.

The quarterback rotation made the practice even more revealing. Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson split first-team reps, Dillon Gabriel worked with the second team, and Taylen Green also took snaps. Sanders connected with Isaiah Bond deep across the middle in the first 7-on-7 period, then fit a ball into Malachi Corley for a big gain in 11-on-11. Watson answered with two big completions to Concepcion, including a touchdown screen in the red zone and another strong play toward the right sideline. Concepcion also caught a deep ball on the opening series of the first 11-on-11 period and made a contested catch through multiple Bills defenders, a sequence that showed why he drew attention in a practice built to sort out real competition.

Monken said the session “got a little edgy, but not over the top,” which is the kind of line coaches use when the heat rises without boiling over. He said the Browns “hit a few balls down the field” and “some short third downs,” then added, “I left the field going, ‘We’ve got some guys to work with.’” That is the clearest takeaway from the day: the Browns did not just get a clean practice, they got a useful one.

What comes next is the part that still needs proving. A joint practice can elevate a player for a day, but it does not settle where Concepcion or Fano fit when the Browns move on from camp reps to the next phase of evaluation. For now, the search result is simple: on Day 18, against the Bills, the Browns found live answers in a Browns Game setting that looked a lot closer to football than camp.
