Mike Perry is headed back to MMA on Aug. 29, when he is scheduled to face Dillon Danis in Florida, and that means BKFC will have to wait a little longer for its biggest name to come home. Perry has not fought in BKFC since October 2025, but the next step on his calendar is not bare-knuckle at all.
That is the reason Perry is drawing fresh attention now. He returned to MMA in May and beat Nate Diaz on the first MVP MMA card on Netflix, and this new booking gives him another high-profile fight outside BKFC before any immediate return is sorted out. For readers following Perry's path, the question is not whether he can still sell a fight. It is where he goes after this one.
BKFC president David Feldman said he cannot give a definite answer about Perry's immediate future with the promotion, even though Perry remains under contract and still has bouts left on that deal. Feldman said he thinks he can make Darren Till versus Mike Perry in early 2027, but he also made clear that any movement depends on what happens after Danis. In other words, the road back to BKFC is still open, but it is not the next stop.
That is the friction point. Feldman called Perry the face of bare-knuckle fighting in BKFC, yet Perry is choosing an MMA fight with Danis instead of jumping straight back into the promotion that made him its centerpiece. Feldman also said Perry told him they needed to talk about money and then later said he had fought for less money, a reminder that contract language does not always settle the business behind it.
Feldman said he knows why Perry took the Danis fight: it is his hometown, and he is trying to prove something there. He also said that if Perry and Danis were standing up and trading shots, Perry would walk through him, while Danis would have the edge only if he could get to grappling. Feldman said he expects Perry to come out on top and then move into negotiations. For now, that puts Perry's Aug. 29 bout in Florida at the center of everything that comes next, with BKFC waiting to see whether its biggest star returns on a fast track or takes the longer route back toward Darren Till.
