Latto’s appearance fits the event’s broader push to mix boxing with hip-hop and celebrity culture, while Shields’ fight remains the anchor. The bout will be shown live on DAZN at 8:30 p.m., and Zeus Network coverage begins at 4 p.m. with professional boxing and celebrity influencer bouts.
That is why the announcement matters today: Shields is not just headlining another title fight, she is set to become the first woman ever to headline a boxing event at State Farm Arena. In practical terms, that means the arena’s biggest boxing stage is being built around a women’s championship bout, not added as an afterthought. For a fighter already carrying the label of Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion, the move down in weight to challenge Scott makes the fight even more unusual.
Promoters have leaned into that crossover design. There is still a competitive question underneath the showmanship. Shields is moving down in weight to meet Scott, and that change will be judged at the bell, not in the promotion. If the fight night delivers the audience the partners are promising, the entrance with Latto will read as part of a larger plan: a championship bout packaged as a cultural event, with Shields at the center of both.
