He has reached the final round with the field behind him even though his season has been defined more by misses than by runs, and Fowler, Young and the rest still have 18 holes to erase that gap. If Riley holds on, he will claim his third career win and close out a season that has offered little until now; if he slips, the title and the check go to one of the players chasing him.
