Diaz, meanwhile, kept finding the ball, later lining another big hit in the seventh and setting up the kind of inning that turned the game from comfortable to out of reach.
The bigger question now is whether the Astros can hold that edge. A half-game is as thin as it gets, and the next standings update could flip again if Houston cools or Texas answers quickly. For the moment, though, the shift is real: the Astros are in front, the Rangers are not, and Diaz was the one who helped make the difference obvious.
