Miloš Janičić says the knee operation that once left him unable to walk became the hardest and best moment of his life, and that it changed the way Bojković saw him after a fight built around an injury. Janičić said his rival tried to use him while he was "without knees," only to regret it later, and he tied that episode to the point where his own career started to look different.
That is why his name is being searched now. Janičić is coming off three wins in Dirty Boxing, and he said the format gave him room to keep chasing knockouts while putting his body through a different kind of punishment. He said Dirty Boxing is easier to prepare for than MMA because it is pure boxing, with no wrestling or kicks, but harsher once the bell rings because the ring is very small, there is no clinch and there is no rest.
He also said his latest win over Tejlora Berlija ended in 44 seconds, but the result did not leave him fully satisfied because he suffered a rupture. The short finish helped keep his name in circulation, yet it also underscored the cost of the style he says he likes most: pressure, power and an early stop. That combination has pushed him into a lane where he can talk about UFC without sounding far from it.
Janičić said UFC is a dream, and he pointed to signs that he is already being watched more closely. He said he met Džona Džonsa in Germany and that Jones watched all three of his Dirty Boxing fights, even though Janičić does not know whether the former champion knows exactly who he is. UFC matchmakers were also present at one of those fights, a detail that gives his run a different weight than a routine regional win streak.
The friction in his story is hard to miss. The knee injury was, by his own telling, the worst thing that happened to him physically, but also the moment that sharpened his career and his sense of who was counting him out. He said the recovery exposed him to being written off, while also forcing Bojković to rethink the way he approached him. What comes next is still unresolved: Janičić has not named his next opponent, and the line between Dirty Boxing momentum and a UFC contract remains exactly that, a line.
There is at least one date attached to the push. The domestic audience will have a chance to watch a spectacle of 14 fights on 1. avgusta at Beogradska arena, and Janičić’s name sits inside a wider conversation that already includes a betting line around Noah Gugnon in UFC Belgrade. For now, he says he keeps his focus on fighting sports, not football or basketball, and keeps looking for the kind of finish that made him a contender in the first place.
