EA Sports has released the Madden NFL 27 rookie grades for the Atlanta Falcons, and the first numbers put Avieon Terrell at the top of the class with a 75-overall base grade. Zachariah Branch followed at 73, while Kendrick Daniels, Anterio Thompson, Ethan Onianwa, Harold Perkins Jr. and James Brockermeyer filled out the rest of the group with ratings that give the rookies an early national snapshot before the season even starts.
The timing matters because the ratings landed during training camp week, when every new number gets read as a small verdict on a player’s first-year role. Madden NFL 27 grades are typically tied to where a player was drafted, which helps explain why the board leans closely to draft position rather than any single summer practice. Terrell’s 75 overall is the third-highest among rookie cornerbacks, and Branch’s 73 is tied for ninth among rookie wide receivers, with a 95 speed score and 93 agility score that make him one of the faster names in the group.
For Atlanta, the spread gives a clearer view of where the class stands right now. Kendal Daniels sits at 69 overall, which ranks 11th among rookie linebackers. Thompson and Onianwa each checked in at 67, though their listings split in a way that stands out: Thompson is grouped with rookie defensive tackles, while Onianwa is officially listed by the Falcons as a tackle but appears as an offensive guard in Madden NFL 27, where his 67 overall ranks 21st at the position. Harold Perkins Jr. landed at 64 overall with strong speed and agility scores, and Brockermeyer also came in at 64, good enough for the seventh-best grade for a rookie at center.
That last number may matter most over time. Brockermeyer drew a good amount of action during OTAs and minicamp, and a 64 does not lock in his September role so much as establish the starting point for how EA sees him. The more interesting question is whether any of these rookie grades move before kickoff, but for now the ratings have done what they were meant to do: give the Falcons’ first-year class a public first look and turn summer reps into something fans can measure.
