Utah was scheduled to face the Chicago Bandits in Game 1 on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. ET on ABC, with Game 2 set for Sunday and Game 3 on Monday if necessary. Even with the No. 1 seed in hand, Fouts was projected to start in the circle for Utah in Game 2 rather than the opener, a reminder that the league’s most dominant regular-season pitcher was still being handled with a plan built for the series, not just the first game.
