For a match built around the name on the other side, the larger question inside the Córdoba camp was not the score but who would actually step onto the pitch.
That question mattered because Carlos Marín could have turned the night into a farewell appearance if Guilherme Fernandes made his debut. It also mattered because Córdoba had already made 15 transfer announcements, with Bri, Théo Zidane and Yussi Diarra among the names shaping a squad that is still being assembled while the preseason clock keeps moving.
The setup for Sevilla was attractive, but it was also part of a longer preamble that has defined Córdoba’s summer. Córdoba is set to play Almería on Friday 7 August at 10:30 hours at Marbella Football Center, and twelve hours earlier it is also due to face Real Jaén in a new edition of the Trofeo El Olivo.
