Nashville SC is back at GEODIS Park on Wednesday night with more than three points on the line. A win over CF Montreal would give the club a record five straight victories, stretch its unbeaten run to 10 games and keep it alone atop the list of teams yet to lose at home in league play in 2026.
The timing matters because Nashville SC, with 36 points through 15 games, has turned a strong start into a real chase in MLS. CF Montreal arrives having allowed 31 goals in its first 15 matches, and it has never won at GEODIS Park, which gives Nashville a clean statistical edge before the first whistle at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Sam Surridge is part of why the matchup has so much weight. He returned to the starting lineup for the first time in any competition since April 7 and played the full 90 minutes against Atlanta on Friday, a useful sign for a team that needs his scoring touch to keep this run alive. He is an MLS All-Star for the second straight season, but the numbers around his recent form are less comfortable: his two most recent goals came in a 45-minute burst off the bench against Charlotte in April, and three of his starts since a March 21 hat trick have ended without a goal.
That is the friction inside Nashville SC's good news. Surridge remains four goals behind Hugo Cuypers in the Golden Boot race, yet he also has the best scoring record for Nashville against Montréal, built on a May 2024 hat trick and a late equalizer in a road draw last October. If Nashville wants the night to become a club milestone instead of just another home date, it will likely need Surridge to turn a return to the XI into the kind of finish that has been missing for too many of his recent starts.
Brian Schwake gives Nashville another reason to believe the streak can keep going. In his first season as a starter, he sits second in MLS clean sheets and has faced 17.21 expected goals on target while giving up 11 goals, two from the penalty spot. Only three of those goals have cost Nashville points, which helps explain why the league leaders have been able to stack results while staying perfect at home in 2026. The next test is simple enough: beat CF Montreal, and the record books change.
