Philadelphia Union will host Red Bull New York on Wednesday, July 22, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM ET at Subaru Park. The match falls on Rivalry Night and MLS Matchday 16, and fans can watch on Apple TV.
That date is why the matchup is drawing attention now: it is a home night built around more than the game itself. All Union parking lots open at 2:30 PM, and fans are being urged to buy a parking pass online because passes are limited.
The matchday plan at Subaru Park stretches across the afternoon and into kickoff. Burn the Bull presented by Hatfield will run at the Sons of Ben tailgate across from Union Yards, where Philly Ice Sculpture will finish a life size bull ice sculpture at 6:00 PM before the remaining ice is smashed after the blowtorch. Limited Burn the Bull bandanas and Hatfield giveaways will be handed out, and Hatfield will offer free samples from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, including an easy ground sausage and rice bowl and a honey garlic pork protein bowl.
Other stops are built into the night as well. Phang and Smiley will join fans at Union Yards for a kicking challenge and a photo booth, while GIANT will set up a booth there with branded swag and a chance to win a $100 GIANT gift card. At Subaru Plaza, fans can try a mechanical bull and a dunk tank, pose with an A Welcome Back Fans banner, and sample coffee from Rival Bros. Pom Poms courtesy of GIANT will be available at all gates, and A Find Phang presented by GIANT and Cooper Cheese is set for halftime.
The friction point for fans is simple: the night is loaded, but access is not unlimited. Parking passes are limited, and the club is pushing buyers to secure them ahead of time rather than show up hoping for space. That matters because the rest of the event is built for crowds, from the tailgate to the photo stops to the halftime promotion.
Three new concession locations are also debuting after summer break renovations, including Snake Bites at Sections 103 and 114. Snake Bites will serve bánh mì sandwiches, empanadas and other Subaru Park favorites, giving fans another option before kickoff. The other new grab-and-go locations were not named in the visible details, but the timing makes clear they are part of the same Wednesday rollout. Fans who want more than the match itself can also sign up through U-Serve presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA, which connects them with volunteer opportunities across Greater Philadelphia; anyone who signs up and completes 5 volunteer hours before August 13 will receive tiered rewards.
The night now has a fixed center: 7:30 PM ET on Wednesday. Everything around it — the parking rush, the tailgate, the new concessions and the halftime search for Phang — is designed to funnel fans into Subaru Park early and keep them there until the final whistle.
