Texas Instruments will report results after the bell this Wednesday, putting Txn stock back in focus just as investors are looking for a clean read on whether the company can keep its recent momentum. That gap is one reason traders are paying attention now. Texas Instruments is expected to post revenue growth of 18.2% from a year earlier this quarter, which would follow 16.4% growth in the same quarter last year and last quarter’s $4.83 billion in revenue, up 18.6% year on year. The company also beat analysts’ EPS estimates and operating income estimates in the prior quarter, giving Wall Street a recent positive marker to weigh against the stock’s weaker run.
There is still reason for caution. Texas Instruments has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates multiple times over the last two years, and analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days rather than raise them. That makes this report more than a routine update: it is a check on whether the latest beat was a turning point or just one strong quarter inside a more uneven stretch.
The broader backdrop is not helping. Semiconductor stocks are down 22.3% on average over the last month, while names such as Micron and Penguin Solutions have posted sharp gains after strong results, including 346% revenue growth for Micron and a 47.6% increase for Penguin Solutions. Against that comparison, Texas Instruments does not need a dramatic surprise to move; it just needs to convince the market that its business can keep growing faster than the recent slump in the group.
If it can do that after the bell on Wednesday, the recent drop in Txn stock starts to look like a pressure-driven pause rather than a warning sign. If it cannot, the stock’s current valuation gap will matter less than the harder question now sitting in front of Wall Street: whether Texas Instruments can turn one beat into a pattern.
